Straight Answers, Plain English

There is a lot of outdated or oversimplified information out there about electrical grants and what work should cost. We publish these guides because most customers just want a straight answer: what is available, who qualifies, and what actually drives the cost of a job.

Grant schemes and their conditions change over time, and a figure you read a year ago may no longer apply. Maher Electrical is SEAI registered and ECSSA registered, so we follow the current position closely and keep our customers on the right side of it. Talk to us before you apply or commit to anything — it costs nothing to ask.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers on grants, paperwork and getting a quote.

Are grant amounts fixed?

No. Grant rates and conditions are set by SEAI and are updated from time to time, so a figure you read online a year ago may no longer apply. We stay across the current position and confirm what applies to your property at survey and quote stage — before you commit to anything.

Do you handle the grant paperwork?

Yes. As an SEAI registered contractor we guide you through the application, the approval step and the paperwork that follows the installation. Under the current schemes the homeowner typically submits the application, with us providing the installer details and supporting documentation, and we make sure everything from our side is correct and submitted in good time.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes. Call or WhatsApp Conn Maher on 085 200 8988, or email info@maherelectrical.ie, for a free, no-obligation quote. We survey the property, explain your options and confirm the current grant position before any work begins.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Mountmellick, Co. Laois, and cover homes, farms and businesses across Co. Laois, Co. Offaly, Co. Kildare and the surrounding counties. If you are not sure whether we reach you, call or WhatsApp and we will tell you straight away.
